Dubai’s Jebel Ali gas plant is the world’s largest in terms of production capacity. It has been named the largest energy plant in the world.

Jebel Ali complex

The Dubai Electric and Water Authority’s Jebel Ali complex has been named the world’s largest single natural gas power plant. The complex has the capacity to generate 9,547 megawatts of electricity. The UAE’s name often appears in the Guinness Book of Records, and first appeared in 1955. Since 1955, the Guinness Book of World Records has sold 143 million copies.
However, Saeed Mohammed, chief executive of the Dubai Electric and Water Authority, says his company has developed plans for a regular power system designed to meet demand by 2030. The company has more than 1 million customers. The plant, located south of Dubai, was expanded in 2019 and can now generate 2,885 megawatts of electricity.

Guinness Book of World Records

Dubai’s name in the Guinness Book of World Records comes at a time when the Dubai Electric Authority is improving its operations. This includes the inclusion of technology such as artificial intelligence, etc. Saeed Mohammad said that it has improved the productivity of the authority by 33.41%, which has also helped in financial savings. In addition, millions of tons of carbon emissions have been reduced, equivalent to planting more than 320 million trees. This has reduced nitrogen oxide gases by 46,000 tons and sulfur dioxide by 3,000 tons. Both can damage the respiratory system.
